On months past and re-blogging

Sheesh, I've alomost forgotten I had a blog to attend to. :( Oh so many things have transpired the past 2 months that every single amazing weekend I have, I'd say to myself.. "This will be what I'll talk about in my post come Monday.." and needless, to say, I ended up saying that over 4 or 5 out-of-town weekends and I never got to write about any of them.. one word: advertising. When you sign up for this industry, apparently, it's juxtaposed to signing up your SOUL. Hahaha! But I'm not complaining, I'm smitten. ;) Well, the following things have happened since I last blogged: - I went surfing in Pelabuhanratu (..or at least I tried) - I went to Lembang and ate at the culture gallery/restaurant I won't mind being proposed in (it was so beautiful and I looked so "unkempt"..) - Anja's birthday celebration (it's been a year!) - Albina's birthday celebration To give some overview on the "exciting" things that happened over my blog-less months, I'll say a bit about the above events. :) Surfing in Pelabuhanratu... well, we drove hours to surf! With the surfer guys I just met an hour before we left. I'd consider that a blind-trip! But it was fun and apparently, surfer guys are not your typical knights in shining armors.. they don't treat you any differently just because you're a girl (even when you're a girl in a bikini or out of a bikini because of the waves --> LESSON in LIFE: Never wear a stringy bikini when "attempting" to surf or you'll show more than you're willing to!) Hahaha! We drove hours to Pelabuhanratu (southwest Java), a famous surfing spot, the night after the Quicksilver Surf Open (Elena & I were hoping to see remnants of the real surfer guys.. the tattoed, kick-ass, rugged ones! Sorry, Bure, nothing personal.. you're a great guy, still! Haha!)and we got stopped by some "corrupt" policemen midway because they saw the white people in the car (Elena and Albina, why can't you just blend in, huh???) and demanded passports and stuff.. I don't know how the guys sorted it out but they did. Kudos! On to the surfing... let's just say it was six hours of "attempting" that resulted to the following: - Bruises all over - Gallons of salt water in the stomach --> enough supply for a year - Bikini top at the bottom --> ultimate mortification of my 22 years of existence - Never stood on the surfboard while on water --> was able to on sand, pathetic It was a great weekend with the guys and after a while, Elena & myself have come to a conclusion: when they do things we don't understand or agree on, we just brush it off as a "surfer thing"... And applying it in the big picture, when guys do stuff, we, women, just don't get.. brushing it off and saying "it's a guy thing" makes it a whole lot simpler (easier said than done eh? Well, I am single so shoot me!) :) The Lembang Trip. Ahhh, that was a gastronomic and shoppaholic treat. :) It's near Bandung (refer to my past post on that city), what can I say?! Anyway, went with the girls (Elena, Albina & Nina) on a free-ride in their boss' "treat" of free hotel vouchers for us. Stayed at the Grand Lembang Hotel and went around for 2 days.. ate at Kampung Daun and that place is breathtaking! That night was on eof the most romantic night of my entire life.. only I was with the "girls" ???? Actually, we all felt the same so it's okay. We didn't expect it to be that grand and beautiful, we were not dressed for the place. I mean, we came from a day of shopping in Bandung looking like backpackers then we got to this paradise of a place. When Albina was all enthusiastic about taking photos, me & Elena were not really all up to the idea of looking like lost girls in a background of such spectacle. I acn't descrbe the place because words won't do it justice... Imagine all candles everywhere in small huts with just pillows and a low table dotted on the sides of a cobblestone path with trees everywhere and since it's up in a higher altitude, it was so cold so there was a big bonfire to warm your hands. And this, it is surrounded by a stream that indulges one with the serene sound of flowing water against rocks. My God, it was beautiful. And I can't imagine that most of my Indonesian friends have never been there. It's alomost a crime not to know and much more, see that place.
